Security Tips for Digital Banking Customers
- Set good PINs. Avoid using easily guessable numbers like birthdates, Part of Phone Number (e.g., if your number is 0912345678, avoiding 5678.), repeated digits (1111,2222), Simple Sequential Numbers (1234, 2345)
- Do not share your PIN with anyone
- Beware of scammers falsely claiming to be from GBB; GBB will never ask you to share your PIN through any form of communication.
- Avoid using USSD services in public areas where others might see your screen.
- Only use USSD code provided by GBB (*916#), attackers may send fake USSD codes or menus, pretending to be from GBB, in an attempt to steal your login credentials.
- Always double-check the transaction details before confirming any USSDbased fund transfers.
- Monitor your bank statements regularly and report any suspicious activity immediately.
- Never write down your Personal Identification Number (PIN) – Instead, memorize it!
- Never disclose PIN numbers to anyone.
- Never give card numbers over the phone, unless you have initiated the call.
- Always verify the transaction amount before signing the sales receipt
- When selecting a PIN, do not choose numbers and letters that can be easily identified. Avoid using initials, phone numbers or birth dates.
- Report lost or stolen cards to the nearest Goh Betoch bank branch immediately.
